Relief workers :
Women who were Relief Workers in the Civil War would do multiple things like, making sewing circles with all the other women so there was an abundant amount of cloth/clothing, they'd gather food, medical supplies, bedding for local military encampments and hospitals. It was like, they were at home taking care of the house. They did the cooking the cleaning ect. As a Relief Worker it was their job to make sure the food was made, the nurses had the right medical supplies. They made sure everything was organized and easy to find when needed.
